Snakes are a favorite motif of ours, and have been used throughout time in jewelry—especially popular during the Victorian era, as Queen Victoria's engagement ring was in the shape of a snake. In the Chinese zodiac, the snake is enigmatic, full of wisdom, a cautious observer, while in Congolese lore, they represent ethereal forces of gentle yet mystical power. Launched on the first day of the year of the Wood Snake, a year of growth and renewal, influenced by the observing and mysterious traits of the Snake.
This piece is made in sterling silver, with a 2.1 ct green tourmaline from Brazil. 24 mm tall, 3 mm x 2.6 mm bail.
