A brooch from the art nouveau era, of a griffin's head, holding an old cut diamond in its mouth. In a round frame with swirling, elegant lines- a classic art nouveau style- like dreamy clouds surrounding the griffin. The piece has so much texture and detail, just a beautiful example of the ideas behind art nouveau design: highly ornate, to show off master craftsmanship as a response to industrialization.

Marked, tested 14k. Pin on back is not gold. In good antique condition, estimated from 1900s. Contact us if you'd like to convert to a pendant.
