Description

Vintage Piaget cushion watch, reference 99036, 18k yellow gold case with hand-textured bark finish, black dial, black crocodile strap.

Founded in 1874 by Georges-Édouard Piaget in the Swiss Jura village of La Côte-aux-Fées, Piaget spent its first decades making movements for other houses before stepping out under its own name in 1943. From its onset, Piaget worked at the meeting point of fine watchmaking and art jewelry. Its signature ultra-thin movements enabled the brand to experiment with unconventional materials and techniques, from hardstone dials to hand-textured gold. That daring, paired with masterful technical craft, quickly set Piaget apart from its peers and earned it a lasting place with watch collectors and jewelry lovers alike.

This reference is a pure expression of Piaget’s ‘70s  “golden age”. The wide cushion case is finished entirely by hand in Piaget’s signature “bark” texture, with each stroke cut into the gold so the surface catches light like the grain of a tree trunk. At its center, a small black stone dial with slim gold hands, and nothing else to distract from the striking case. The contrast between rugged, organic gold framing and perfectly muted dial makes for a watch that is bold yet refined and tasteful.

With its generous cushion case and slim profile, this Piaget wears with real presence while remaining comfortable. Paired with a black crocodile strap and gold tone buckle, it moves effortlessly from day to evening, and its balanced proportions make it equally at home on any wrist.

about our vintage watches

Our vintage watches are pre-owned and may have imperfections or scratches from their past lives. Vintage watches do not come with original boxes and purchase papers unless otherwise specified. We are an independent company and not affiliated with any brand we sell.
All vintage is carefully cleaned before being sent to customers. We do our best to clearly document any imperfections in our photos and listings. Colors may slightly vary due to lighting sources or your monitor settings, and all measurements are approximate.

watch guarantee

All vintage watches are guaranteed authentic. We work closely with experts on each watch brand and carefully inspect the movements, cases, and bracelets to ensure authenticity. Watches are in working order, and if a mechanical issue arises at no fault of the customer within the first year we will take care of repairs. Please avoid any contact with liquids: due to their age, most vintage watches have reduced water resistance.
