1970s-80s Cartier Vendôme, reference 81002, 18k solid gold with white roman numeral dial.

Introduced in 1973 as part of the revamped Louis Cartier collection, the Vendôme is a refined homage to the Parisian elegance of Place Vendôme, the historic square adjacent to Cartier's flagship boutique. Featuring borrowed design elements from the Cartier Ronde (Cartier's first round production watch, premiered in 1937), the Vendôme's silhouette is defined by its circular bezel and unique "T-strap" shoulder lugs at the 6 and 12 o'clock positions, creating a distinctive "suspended" look where the leather strap appears to barely touch the case. 

The 26mm wide case in solid 18k gold offers a touch of golden warmth contrasting the white roman numeral dial. This model makes for a versatile essential for smaller wrists, offering the careful proportion and unobtrusive fit required of a daily watch. 

The "Swiss" signature at the bottom of the Roman numeral dial indicates the watch was originally sold through Cartier’s New York branch.
