1990s Cartier Santos Ronde Chronograph, 18k, blue dial.

Designed for famous aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, the Cartier Santos was originally  introduced in 1904 as the first-ever pilot’s watch, following Alberto's request to Louis Cartier for a practical wristwatch that he could wear while flying, rather than having to check his pocket watch mid-flight. 

The Santos Ronde Chronograph is a distinctive evolution of the maison’s first pilot’s watch, merging the aeronautical "screw-motif" DNA of the original Santos with the elegance of the Cartier Ronde, the brand’s first round watch released in 1937. This 18k yellow gold reference of the Santos Ronde Chronograph is defined by its striking deep blue dial, featuring a date aperture and sub-dials that offer a sporty yet classic aesthetic. With its black Roman numerals and railroad minute track, this reference honors some of Cartier's most recognizable design elements. 

Measuring 32 mm in diameter with an exceptionally low-profile fit of just 6.8 mm, the case hugs the wrist gracefully for a comfortable fit, and is perfect for smaller to mid-size wrists looking for a more substantial look. Phased out of Cartier's watch line in 2005, this timepiece remains a storied favorite for admirers of the brand.
