A stunning statement bombé ring in white gold, with pink rubies invisibly set in a heart shape, and framed with diamonds. More invisible set rubies cover the shoulders of the ring, for a beautiful look that really lets the natural color of these unheated rubies shine.

Invisible setting, or mystery setting, was originally patented in the 1930s, and involves small grooves being cut into each stone so it can be carefully slid into place along a grid, which is only visible from the back- no metal can be seen between the stones on the front. As the process requires both a lot of time and precision, vintage pieces in this style are rarer to find. 

Rubies are of Burmese origin, with no evidence of heat treatment, approx. 7.5 cts total. Diamonds are VS-SI clarity, F/G color, approx. 1 cts total. 

Marked 750 and tested for 18k gold. In very good condition.
