Snakes are a favorite motif of ours, and have been used throughout time in jewelry, especially popular during the Victorian era, as Queen Victoria's engagement ring was in the shape of a snake. In the Chinese zodiac, the snake is enigmatic, full of wisdom, a cautious observer. Today is the first day of the year of the Wood Snake, a year of growth and renewal, influenced by the observing and mysterious traits of the Snake. 8 is a lucky number in Chinese culture, as it sounds like the word for prosperity.
The pendant features a juicy, 3 carat pear-cut rhodolite garnet, with a beautiful purplish pinkish reddish color, with a snake wrapping around the bezel, and its open mouth forming the bail, holding onto your chain with its teeth. We can make this pendant with other stones as well- please contact us with inquiries.
This piece is made in 18k yellow gold, measures 23mm tall, weighs 5.33 g, and was cast and crafted locally in Los Angeles. The bail can accommodate a chain of up to 1.3 mm, and the pendant is shown with a chain that has a 2.2 mm wide oval jump ring on the end and is 1 mm wide.
