Signet rings inspired by an ancient symbol
Signet rings have been worn for thousands of years as expressions of identity, heritage, and personal meaning, but few symbols have traveled as far, or meant as much, as the eye. It appears in the funerary gold of ancient Egypt as the Eye of Horus, and resurfaces millennia later in the Hamsa of North African and Middle Eastern tradition, the Nazar of Turkey and the Mediterranean, the third eye of Hindu and Buddhist iconography, and the all-seeing eye woven into the spiritual vernacular of the Western world. Across cultures with no shared language or geography, the eye has meant the same thing: protection, perception, and a connection to something greater than the self.
Naturally, this universality that drew us to it. The Eye Signet is one of molimo's central designs, reimagining the symbolism of the eye through a fine jewelry lens. Each ring is cast and crafted in our Los Angeles studio in sterling silver or 14k solid gold, set with a flush natural diamond at the center. The knife-edge detail extending around the band is deliberate, while the solid curved interior makes for a smooth, comfortable fit on the finger. Each of our eye signets is made using recycled, reclaimed, and responsibly sourced materials. These details reflect the specifications and symbolism described in molimo’s Diamond Eye Signet. Available as a diamond, opal, enamel, or gemstone inlay, each iteration of the Eye Signet is a talisman built for daily protection.
Whether worn as a modern evil eye ring, a symbolic signet, or a distinctive statement piece, each design is created to carry personal meaning across generations.
What does the eye motif symbolize?
What does the eye motif symbolize?
The eye motif commonly symbolizes protection, vigilance, perception, and spiritual awareness. Interpretations vary across cultures, allowing the ring to carry either traditional symbolism or a personal meaning chosen by its wearer.
Is an eye ring the same as an evil eye ring?
Is an eye ring the same as an evil eye ring?
The terms overlap, but they are not always identical. An evil eye ring traditionally represents protection against negative energy, while an eye ring can use the motif more broadly to symbolize awareness, wisdom, vigilance, or divinity. Molimo’s designs draw from the eye’s wider historical symbolism.

Our eye signet rings are individually cast and crafted locally in Los Angeles by skilled artisans. Our studio does not use mass production, and focuses on using recycled, reclaimed, and responsibly sourced materials to craft jewelry the way it was originally intended, by hand, with intention, in an age that has largely forgotten what that feels like. In a world of instant everything, we still believe the best things take time to get right.

Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive surfaces, and extreme temperatures. Clean the ring with mild dish soap, warm water, and a soft brush. Gemstone inlay rings and opals require additional caution, as the stones are softer.
